With heavy hearts, we bid farewell to Kawaldip Sehmi, a beacon of dedication and passion. 

Kawaldip’s unwavering commitment radiated not only within the International Alliance of Patients’ Organizations (IAPO), where he led as CEO since 2015, but also as a vital bridge to the GetReal Institute. His steadfast support for IMI GetReal projects laid the bedrock for our guiding principles, embodying a legacy of seamless collaboration. 

Kawaldip’s influence extended globally, fostering dialogues on patient partnerships, regulatory matters, and personalised care. His insights were invaluable, reflecting a commitment that transcended professional boundaries. 

Our thoughts and condolences go to his family, friends, and the global community. In memory of Kawaldip, let’s continue our journey, uniting patient advocacy and healthcare innovation, and carrying forth his legacy of patient-centred excellence. 

IAPO have created an online memorial page for Kawaldip to honour and cherish his work and friendship. Please consider paying homage to him by sharing any memories, thoughts and pictures about him. The memorial will later be turned into a printed book which will be shared with his family.
